Types of Channeling: Conscious, Trance, and Telepathic Modes

ET-063 Deep ·
Bashar describes three primary modes of channeling, each with distinct characteristics and requirements. Conscious channeling (the mode Bashar primarily uses with Darryl) involves the channel entering a deep meditative state while maintaining some witness awareness—the channel can later recall portions of what was transmitted. Trance channeling involves the channel's consciousness completely stepping aside, with no subsequent memory of the session; this allows the clearest transmission but requires the highest level of trust and energetic calibration. Telepathic channeling involves receiving information as thoughts, images, or 'downloads' while in normal waking consciousness—this is the most common form and includes artistic inspiration, scientific breakthroughs, and intuitive knowing. Bashar notes that everyone channels to some degree; what varies is the source (higher self, spirit guides, or other-dimensional beings) and the clarity of reception. Each mode serves different purposes, and no single mode is inherently superior—conscious channeling allows real-time interaction with questioners, trance allows deeper transmission of complex material, and telepathic channeling integrates higher guidance into daily life.
