Bashar discusses OBEs as natural occurrences that happen every night during sleep, but which can also be achieved consciously while awake. He explains that consciousness is not confined to the brain; the brain is a receiver, and consciousness can tune into other frequencies just as a radio can switch stations. Common OBE entry points: the hypnagogic state (between waking and sleeping), deep meditation, near-death experiences, and certain breathing techniques. Bashar emphasizes that fear is the main barrier to conscious OBEs; the sensation of leaving the body can trigger panic, which instantly snaps you back. He advises practicing in a safe, comfortable environment and using affirmations like 'I am safe as I explore beyond my body.' During an OBE, you may visit other locations on Earth, other dimensions, or meet non-physical beings. Bashar notes that the 'silver cord' connecting the astral body to the physical body ensures you cannot get lost or die; the cord is unbreakable until physical death.
