Dream Work as Spiritual Practice: Lucid Dreaming and Astral Navigation

PRAC-056 Deep ·
Bashar presents dream work as one of the most powerful and underutilized spiritual practices available to humans. Dreams are not random neurological events but genuine experiences in parallel realities and non-physical dimensions. The dream state is where the consciousness naturally goes when freed from the dense focus of physical reality, and it serves multiple functions: processing daily experiences, receiving guidance from higher self, training in consciousness navigation, and connecting with other beings (incarnate and non-incarnate). Lucid dreaming—becoming consciously aware that you are dreaming while in the dream—is a critical skill that allows intentional exploration of non-physical reality. Bashar recommends several techniques: reality testing during waking hours (habitually asking 'Am I dreaming?'), setting strong intention before sleep, waking during REM cycles and returning to sleep with focused awareness, and keeping detailed dream journals to improve recall. Astral navigation involves learning to direct your dream experiences toward specific destinations—meeting guides, visiting other timelines, receiving information, and even connecting with deceased loved ones in their current state of being.
