The Body's Natural Pharmacy: Endorphins, Dopamine, and Self-Healing

HEALTH-020
Bashar teaches that the human body produces every chemical needed for well-being—endorphins for pain relief, dopamine for motivation, serotonin for mood stability, oxytocin for bonding, and DMT-like compounds for altered states.
Bashar teaches that the human body produces every chemical needed for well-being—endorphins for pain relief, dopamine for motivation, serotonin for mood stability, oxytocin for bonding, and DMT-like compounds for altered states. The key is to activate these 'internal pharmaceuticals' through belief, breath, movement, and emotional choice. Laughing for 10 minutes releases the same endorphins as moderate exercise. Crying detoxifies stress hormones. Hugging for 20 seconds boosts oxytocin. The body is a self-regulating pharmacy; the belief that you need external substances to feel good is itself a limiting belief. However, Bashar consistently states this does not mean rejecting medicine when needed. It means recognizing that your body has enormous innate capacity, and that pharmaceuticals are sometimes necessary bridges while you work on the underlying beliefs. He encourages using joy, play, and connection as daily 'medicine' to keep the internal pharmacy well-stocked.
